There are times when the emails from a particular address become annoying as they send emails repeatedly which are useless and junk your inbox. Specially, if you share email address publicly or subscribed for the email newsletter from any website or service, they continue with sending the emails to your inbox. In such case, you might be wanting to get rid from that.
Generally, each newsletter email contains a small link at the bottom of the email body to unsubscribe from the email subscription. You can easily stop receiving emails from that particular address by clicking on that unsubscribe link. But, some websites or services do not provide the proper link for the un-subscription. That is why you can’t get rid from those emails easily.
Here, we discussed some simple procedures that help you to stop or mute the notification emails or daily email newsletters in your Gmail inbox.
Mute the conversation to stop the incoming mails from an email address
One of the easiest way to stop incoming mails from a particular email address is Muting that conversation. If you’re receiving lots of mails from a particular email address, go to your inbox, select the email by checking the the box and select Mute from the More actions button.
This method mutes receiving the emails from that particular email address but does not prevent the sender from sending the emails.
Unsubscribe from the email Newsletter subscriptions
To get rid from the useless email newsletters, you can try Unsubscribe.com. Sign-up for free to Unsubscribe.com and install the extension for your browser. It is available for Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari etc. After the installation, it adds an “Unsubscribe” button at your Gmail inbox.
If you can’t find the Unsubscribe button in your inbox, directly send the email id that you want to get rid from to mail@unsubscribe.com. This will drop that email address in the un-subscription queue.
Automatically delete Email Newsletters
When you download anything from a website or use their services by registering with your email address, they send email newsletters or promotional emails which are useless. Though the email bodies contain a link to unsubscribe, but you can automatically delete those emails or newsletters before they reach at your inbox instead of manually doing the same.
Crete a Gmail filter in your inbox to automatically delete the spam newsletters.
1. Log-in to your Gmail account and click on Settings.
2. Head over the Filter tab and click on Create a new filter.
3. Put “Unsubscribe” at the “Has the words:” field and click Next Step.
4. In the next step, select the check box “Delete it“.
5. Finally, click on “Create filter” button. You can also apply this filter to previous emails that contains the word “Unsubscribe”.
You are done! Although you can apply any of the above methods to stop the unwanted emails at your Gmail inbox, I recommend to create the filter and choose the action that you want to treat with them. Make sure to read how to create temporary email address with Hotmail.
