Sync Microsoft Office and Google Docs with Data Synchronization Software OffiSync

Tanmay MS Office Leave a Comment

There are times when you want to get access of your Office documents on the go but do not have the access to your PC. You can organize your PC to be accessed remotely or you can carry your important documents in a USB stick. Both of them are not a good solution. Even if you manage to get the documents, situation may be still against you.
Say, all of your data are Microsoft Office files like documents, presentations etc and the device at your hand has not have the Microsoft Office installed or you are not able to install it anyway. In that situation, Google Docs would help you if Microsoft Office and Google Docs were synchronized. OffiSync is a data synchronization software that allows you to sync Microsoft Office and Google Docs.

OffiSync (Microsoft Office addon) allows you to modify, update the Google docs files and vice-versa. Even, you can create Google docs files within Microsoft Office. I found this data synchronization software as best to sync my Office data with Google Docs.

Installing OffiSync in Microsoft Office

First you have to have the Microsoft Office installed in your computer. To install the addon OffiSync, download it first from here and double click on the setup file. The installer pop-up box appears.

Click on the “Install” button. After getting installed, OffiSync appears as an extra tab in your Office window. Heading up on that tab for the first time, the license agreement box appears. Agreeing with that agreement allows the full access of the addon for data synchronization between Google Docs and Office.
Now, add your Google Docs account with Office by clicking on the “Settings > Accounts” under the “OffiSync” tab.

Once you are connected, you can open, edit the files of your Google Docs account from the corresponding Microsoft Office application.

When you are done with the editing or modifying, just press Ctrl + S to save. The file will be saved locally and synced with the Google Docs.

This software works fine with Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 when syncing files with Google Docs.
