Well friends. I don’t want to describe my past experience of searching any file or folder in Windows XP, especially when I’m in hurry. It was so frustrating and time-consuming .Then I searched out the local drive search engine “Everything” from Voidtools. It is a free file search utility from Voidtools that instantly searches everything on your computer ( read also Optimize your search results ).
This file search tool “Everything” indexes the local and external NTFS hard drives and scans for all files in the drives. You can use this file search utility “Everything” in your hard drive or the portable version to use externally. The tool takes some time to index all the files and folders in your PC at the first time. Once it completes the search, the succeeding searches will be so fast that it seems to take almost no time.
How To Install The File Search Tool Everything
At first chose the target folder where you want to install the search tool. By default it should “C:>Program files > Everything” in your system drive. Make sure to choose the component what you want to add like start context menu, run at start up etc by checking in the corresponding box.
Now Press “Next” to go ahead.
After installing, it will take some time to scan all your hard drive. So after finishing the first stage it will list a big list of files and folders.
