Micromax Bolt Selfie With 5MP Front Camera Launched At INR 4,999

Micromax has launched a new smartphone in its latest Bolt-series, called the Bolt Selfie. The new entry-level smartphone has been listed on the company’s site and will soon be available on Flipkart. The Micromax Bolt Selfie has been priced at INR 4,999. It comes in White and Champagne colour options.

The Micromax Bolt Selfie features a 4.5-inch IPS display with FWVGA [480 x 854 pixels] resolution. It is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek [MT6735] processor along with 1GB RAM ,and 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a micro SD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

The Micromax Bolt Selfie sports a 5-megapixel front fixed-focus camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The 4G LTE enabled smartphone comes with GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and GPS as connectivity options. The dual-SIM [micro-SIMs] smartphone is backed by a 1750mAh removable battery, that claims to offer up to 18 hours of talk time and up to 260 hours of standby time.

Last week, Micromax had launched the Bolt Supreme and the Bolt Supreme 2 at INR 2,749 and INR 2,999, respectively. Both 3G-enabled smartphones are powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage [further expandable up to 32GB]. Both run Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Both smartphones features a 2MP rear camera with LED flash, and a VGA [0.3MP] front-facing camera. However, while the Micromax Bolt Supreme features a 3.5-inch display and a a 1200mAh battery, the Bolt Supreme 2 sports a larger 3.9-inch display and a 1400mAh battery.

The new addition in the entry-level smartphone segment will help Micromax to strengthen its position. The low-budget smartphone is targeted at the entry-level smartphone users looking for an upgrade and aims to capitalize on the selfie craze. What do you think about this device?
