Earlier, Google released Chrome OS virtual appliance and now they’ve confirmed the release of Chromium Operating System for virtual machine. However, this is not the fully functioned original operating system. Rather, it is a preview version of the main operating system which is yet to be enter into the market. A lot of options are available to check out the Chrome OS. You can install Google Chrome OS into VirtualBox or VMware workstation to get a brief idea. But unfortunately it does not work with Microsoft virtual machine.
Google Chrome OS is an open source software and it is being improved day-by-day. This version is changing so rapidly as numbers of features are being added by the developers everyday. Here, we’ll update you with the latest additions though. Right now, we’ve introduced how to install Google Chrome OS into VirtualBox. However, you can also run Google Chrome OS from USB drive but it needs the login username and password to get into the system.
Installing Google Chrome OS into VirtualBox
1. Download and install the VirtualBox. When downloading, make sure that you have picked the right file version that is compatible with your operating system.
2. Go to this site and download latest version of the Chromium OS image for VirtualBox.
3. When every thing is ready, start the VirtualBox and select the ‘New’ tab from the top-left corner.
4. Give any name of your virtual machine and choose ‘Linux’ from the ‘Operating System’ drop-down menu. Also select ‘Ubuntu’ as the version. Though you can choose any other version for the OS this one is generally preferred. Now click on the ‘Next’ button.
5. Adjust the base memory size for the virtual machine. It generally depends on your system memory. I recommend that you should allocate the base memory size to one-third of your system memory. My system memory is 1 GB so, I’ve chosen 356 MB. Once done, click the ‘Next’ button.
6. Choose the option ‘Use existing hard disk’ in the next window and click the button at the right side of the drop-down box.
7. Browse and locate the file that you downloaded, then click on the ‘Add’ button. After all, click the ‘Select’ button.
Finally, click the ‘Next’ and then ‘Finish’ button.
That’s it! You have successfully installed the Google Chrome OS into your VirtualBox.
Running Google Chrome OS in VirtualBox
To start the Google chrome OS, start the VirtualBox application and click on ‘Start’ button from the left pane.
The Google Chrome Operating System boots and the log-in screen appears.
Here, you have to log-in with your Google account. If you do not have such account then create one from here. After successful log-in, you can get access to the Google chrome OS into your VirtualBox.
That’s it. Read more about Google Chrome Os.

Unfortunately, we do not know any other source for that image file.
