Tanmay Geeky Tips Leave a Comment

Sharing links from PC to smartphone is a pain. One way is to send the link as text message to the phone using some free SMS services but that may not be fast all time. The other way is to copy the link in a notepad and paste in your phone via mass storage mode and opening it. But these methods consumes time and not very friendly.
Here we got a new service to speak about which handles link transfer between your PC and Phone blazing fast. This service is called the “Site to Phone” service. In this post we will take you through different steps of setting up this service.

Setting up the service in PC :

There are two ways to connect your phone with your PC – using a unique id given by the site only for you or creating an account with your existing email address. In order to do that, just visit the site sitetophone.com and head to the Create an ID tab.

Grab the unique ID as indicated in the above screenshot or create an email login. You can use any one of them to setup your smartphone and connect it with your computer.
Site To Phone Setup in Smartphone :
If you are going to connect your phone using Unique ID, type sitetophone.com in your smartphone browser (make sure that it is connected with internet) and click Login tab.

Here, you can see the similar option as it was in your PC browser. Type your Unique ID to continue.

After you enter the Unique ID, click Settings tab in the page. It will take you to a page where you can setup SiteToPhone for your smartphone.

Click the link Setup this phone. The setup says to bookmark the site to continue. Once you bookmark the site, click Complete setup in your Phone browser.

That’s it! The setup in the mobile is done. Now the PC will display that your smartphone is ready to receive links using the ID.

Sharing the link from your PC to smartphone

To share any link from the browser in your PC just use the Quick send option and type or paste the link you want to share then press the Send button.

Using Browser plugin/extension/bookmarklets

This service supports almost all popular web-browsers such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Opera. All you have to do is download and install the suitable browser plugin or extension or bookmarklet for the browser you are using.
Currently, the Site To Phone plugins are available for Chrome and Internet explorer.
For other browser you can use the bookmarklet option. The bookmarklet option takes you to the window where you can paste the link which you need to send to the phone.
You can download the bookmarklet and extensions from the link: Site To Phone PC Addons.
After you download the extension, put the unique id or use the account details i.e email address and password to login in to the extension window.

Then connect your smartphone with computer in similar way as stated earlier.
Using the Add-on or bookmarklet will let you to share any link from the right-click context menu, directly from the browser address bar etc.

Exclusive Guide for iPhone Users:

For iPhone users you can make use of the Add to Homescreen option in your Mobile safari. This in turn turns the bookmark to an app for easy access.
