For those who are to transfer or share various files over the internet Dropbox is the best utility. It is a good choice to synchronize files between computers as well. The Dropbox desktop client syncs the files from your Dropbox account automatically, just keep open it to your system tray.
Some time you need to send files and attachments from your email address directly to your Dropbox account. Send to Dropbox and Habilis are two well know web services which manage to send/upload attachment files by email to your Dropbox. This utility can be helpful if you want to sort down your email attachments.
Here is the steps to send files via email to Dropbox using both “Send to Dropbox” and “Habilis”.
1. Send to Dropbox
Go to Send to Dropbox and connect your Dropbox to this application.
After connecting, just allow the application to access your Dropbox.
This will give you a unique email address for your Dropbox. Sending anything to this email address is actually sending them in your Dropbox. Add the email address to you contact list. Now forward to that address whenever you need to upload any file or attachment via email.
2. Habilis
Habilis also does the same thing and give you a unique email address to upload your file attachments to Dropbox forwarding them to that email address.
How can non-Dropbox user send or upload files to your Dropbox?
The user who have not Dropbox account they can also upload files to your Dropbox. AirDropper is the popular web application that allows you to sent request to your friends for uploading files to your Dropbox.
Go to AirDropper and press “Start” to connect with your Dropbox. It will prompt for your Dropbox email id and password to log-in. After allowing the application to access of your Dropbox it will create a folder Dropbox/AirDropper/ to your Dropbox. The files uploaded by your friend or the requested person will be uploaded to this folder.
Now you will have to fill up the entries in the “File request form” for you.
After clicking the “Send” button it will send an email to the recipient with detailed instructions of the uploading process.
This methods may be very helpful for the college friends, study group, project group etc.
