Too much screen time is bad for you as well as for me. Working late nights and then going to bed with smartphones is linked to serious havocs in your life. It does ruin your sleep cycle, but prolong exposure to laptops, monitors, smartphones screen is no good for your overall health.
As f.lux phrased it better than anyone, how drastic screen time is for your health and eyes and sleep cycle and more.
During the day, computer screens look good—they’re designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn’t be looking at the sun.
The blue light from the screens of monitors, laptops, smartphones and other LED screens not just affect your sleep cycle, but has also been linked to serious physical and mental health problems.
Exposure to the blue light in the day-time is fine, all those screen looks good and has little to do with all the physical and mental health problems.
But at night, prolonged exposure all these blue eerie screens suppresses the formation of hormone, melatonin, which affects our sleep cycle. And when our hormone formation is affected, that’s when we’re exposed to wide range of ailments, from depression to cancer, sleep and more.
Well, if you’d, avoid the use of all these screens at night. If not, at-least work things out to reduce the screen time at night. But some of us are bound to work at night, offices and all that pressure could keep us awake all night.
If you’re bound to work late nights and again, early in the morning, your boss demands your presence at the desktop, you better prepare your desktop(or any other screen) to save yourselves.
It’s easy, a small utility would save you from wide range of ailments and your eyes will appreciate this small gesture.
Get Flux, mere utility, which adjusts the color of your computer’s display to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day. It adjusts the color of your computer’s display, so that it’s easy on your eyes, all the time.
F.lux is quite intuitive and needs no learning to manage/use it. Just download it and run. And it’ll adjust the screen accordingly. However, you can disable it if your work involves color sensitive work.
It’s available for Windows, Mac, Linux and iPhone/iPad. Unfortunately, Android users have to put down their smartphones to sleep better.
On the side note, it’s not a promotion or a review, but I strongly recommend our readers to use f.lux. You can thank me later.
So, get F.lux and sleep better at night.
Absolutely great software. Thanks a lot 🙂
