Encrypt and Decrypt Files in Windows by Using Conceal

Tanmay Software Leave a Comment

In the previous article we have discussed about the need of encrypting files in our system and the facilities associated with it. In that article we have discussed how to encrypt files without the use of any third party tool or a software i,e encrypting files online or directly from your system. In this article we shall let you know how to encrypt or decrypt files by using a third party tool which makes it even much more secured since direct encryption from our system is fine but in case anyone logs into your computer by your user name it is useless. He can easily change, modify or delete the encrypted file.
Thus for further more security we are using a software Conceal for encryption and decryption of files. It is recommended to download the setup of the software from the given link above and install it to your system.
After installation of the software open it and this is how the application should look :

Encrypting a File :

On the left half of the window you should see a message “Double click or Drag here to start Encrypting”. Follow the message and drag an item. Immediately you should see another window appearing requiring you to provide and confirm a password. On completing the above click on “options” to select the encryption algorithm or the mode of encryption as per your requirement. Choose the destination where you wish to save your encrypted file and then hit “Save and Close”.

Once you have one the above successfully and provided the destination the encrypting starts and after a few seconds it is completed successfully. You can get assured of that by the following message that appears after the operation is completed.

Your job is done!!! Now even if someone logs into your computer by your user-name he cannot do anything with the encrypted file until and unless he knows your password. You are totally safe and secured.

Decrypting a File :

Now if you wish to open the file you will find that Windows cannot open the file. Hence you have to decrypt the file for any operation with it. For this purpose just follow the mentioned steps below :
On the right half pane of the application you should see an option “Double click or Drag here to start Decrypting”.

Do the needful and select the encrypted version of the file from where you have saved it during encryption. As soon as it is done you will be asked to provide the password and the destination. When completed click on “Save and Close”.

Your decryption of the selected file starts and after a few second you are displayed the following message to assure you that the decryption has been done successfully.

Now you can view, modify or even delete the file as before. This software is hugely useful and easy to use in this regard and we hope you will also not face any sort of problems while using it after following the steps mentioned in this article.
