Do you have GOM Player installed in your Windows PC? If you have but do not want to get drawn in with your PC to just change the music or play the video, here is a tutorial that will let you access GOM player in Windows from Android or iOS mobile.
With this trick, you can access your GOM player for PC from anywhere as long as you are connected to the same WiFi network where your PC actually is.
How to Control GOM Player for Windows from Android or iOS
This is very simple and not much time consuming task at all. There is a simple application called GOM Remote, which is available for Windows, Android and iOS. Unfortunately, Mac or Windows Phone users cannot utilize it at this moment. As this is a freeware, there is nothing to lose if it does not meet your needs.
Before getting started, just make sure that you have at least Android 2.2 or later version, iOS 4.3 or later version and Windows XP or later version. Although, the official documentation says, you can install it on up to Windows 8, yet, I have personally tried it on Windows 8.1 as well as Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 9926 without any issue.
Anyway, at first, download GOM Remote on your PC as well as mobile from where you would like to access your existing GOM Player that is installed in Windows PC. After installing it on the devices, you can open it. But, before opening, you should know that both devices must be connected to the same WiFi network. Otherwise, it is not going to work.
After opening GOM Remote on your PC, you will get a screen something like the following picture,
You will get a 9-digit code that is mandatory to get connected. Now, open the GOM Remote on your mobile and enter the exact code right there. After that, you can find a 4-digit PIN on your PC’s screen.
Just enter this PIN code on your mobile. If you do everything correctly, you will get the Remote on your screen right after the verification.
It has a plenty of options by which you can change the volume, playing song; pause/stop any song; mute your audio; open file and do more other things. All the features of GOM Remote is divided into five parts. All the aforementioned options are included in Main tab, which is called as Start Screen.
The very next tab is called Advanced. This tab has some options to hide GOM Player in your System Tray/Minimize the GOM player that is running on PC, Full-screen, change aspect ratio, turn ON or OFF subtitle, change Subtitle size, change Tempo and more.
After “Advanced” tab, you will get “Touch” tab. From this tab, you can use swipe to change the track and volume.
The next tab is known as “Capture”. Suppose, you are watching a video and want to take screenshot from that video. In such moment, you can simply use the “Capture” tab to capture images. The image will be saved in your PC’s hard drive.
In simple line, GOM Remote does all the things what a regular TV Remote does.
Bottom Line
Sometime, we need to have access to change a song remotely. If you are a GOM Player user, GOM Remote will do the thing faster. On the other hand, the setup is not much problematic.
I have forgotten my GOM Player Remote verification code. What can I do to get it back?
