Well, in this fast changing world you can’t say what turn technology will take. Years ago, we believed that hard disks are the best place to store the personal data but now the time has changed. We have a large number of online cloud services which allow us to backup our photos, videos and other data on their servers. These data stay there forever and remain with us until we delete it or give access to a unauthorized person.
Google Plus can be used as one of them. It allows you automatically backup your photos and videos at Google+ so that they remain with you forever and can found easily your the Google+ profile.
What’s the benefit of online storage?
There are certain advantages of online storage. The first one is that you can get access to your data from anywhere in the world. Secondly, you need not carry an external hard drive all the time and thirdly, they will remain there forever.
What’s the disadvantage of online storage?
Though the storage companies promise privacy and security strictly, somehow data gets leaked some time and this has happened many times in the past. So be careful in choosing the service at which you are going to put your credentials. We always recommend not to store all your data in a single bucket. You can use Dropbox to store web documents, Google Drive to store office documents and ofcourse Google plus to store photos and videos.
Another disadvantage is that if you don’t have an internet access then you can’t use these services.
So, if you want to know how to backup your photos and videos at Google Plus then follow this simple guide.
How to Backup Photos and Videos to Google Plus Automatically?
What you need to do before you start uploading your photos or videos is making a simple change in your Google plus profile settings.
Before starting, download the Google Plus app on your device from the links below:
- Android users can download Google Plus app from here.
- iPhone users can download Google Plus app from here.
- Windows Phone 8 users can download Google Plus app from here.
Now, open the Google Plus app from your phone and click on settings option.
Under the General Settings, you will see “Auto-backup” option. Click on that.
Turn that Auto-backup switch to On. And here you go. You have enabled auto backup option.
This isn’t over yet. You will see certain options such as when to backup photos and videos. You can choose between Wi-Fi and Data Network. We recommend you to go with Wi-Fi as uploading files will consume a lot of data and even incur charges.
You also have the option to choose whether you want to backup stuff when you are on roaming or charging your device. There is another option named Backup all. If you choose this option, then it will backup all the photos and video from the device which have not been uploaded yet.
You can see how much space you have used and how much is left from the Available Storage option. There is another option which states that you will have unlimited storage if the size of uploaded photos remain standard i.e. at 2048 pixels.
So this is the correct way to backup your photos and videos to your Google Plus account automatically. If you are facing any problem then tell us in the comments section. We will help you out.
I have followed all directions, but its still saying uploading 0 out of 2000. Seems like nothings happening yet. I know they said it takes awhile but I was wondering if you could tell me about how long will I be waiting to see upload numbers move. Or is something wrong?
