Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Review

maadhav Tech news Leave a Comment

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is one of the the devices of the Zenfone 2 series. It is the prettiest among all the ZF2’s and looks really good on the paper. The device comes with a special polygonal back and features huge 64GB internal memory along with 4GB of RAM. But is this device really worth buying? Let’s find out!

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Review:

Design

New plastic back has been introduced in place of old flux metal. New plastic back has a better grip and feels rock solid in hand. Back also has pattered polygons in place for a unique look. Only problem I see with the polygons is that the white back model will attract dust like a magnet. If you are a person unlike me who doesn’t use a back protective cover, you can keep the back safe with a back cover or an ArmourGuard. Build quality is good in comparison with competitors like Mi4 and One plus Two. Addition of some metal to the sides would have made the experience even better.

Display

In clear words. Not many changes were expected in the display part. We get the same old Full HD 1080p 5.5 inch display, protected with a Corning gorilla Glass 3. There is a slight difference in the quality of display especially the brightness levels were much more appealing. Direct sunlight performance has been bettered. The display was really impressive with sharp viewing angles. The device was tested with regular use of videos, content reading, PDF book reading and some surfing, I did not notice any problem viewing any of the same.

Camera

If we go by paper, yes we have the same camera in the Zenfone 2 Deluxe as well, but the results were much different and better as compared to old Zenfone 2. Focusing speed has been improved to a great extent and low-light image quality has also been enhanced. I like the camera Interface as compared to bulky insights of One plus Two. The imaging hardware of Asus has always been impressive. I did notice some white balancing issues with the camera, but I was able to over-come those with a few in-different setting of aperture. If you are low on manual controlling of sensor, you should make a note of this face. Front Panel houses a 5MP Camera and is almost the same as we had in the older version of the Zenfone. I tried some good length Skype calls, performance was as good as the last time.

Software

Asus Zenfone deluxe comes with Android Lollipop 5.0. Asus has sends its entire collection of phones with a custom UI knows as ZEN UI. This is loaded with great customization options and ensures user has ample amount of memory left for running multiple resource seeking application. ZEN UI comes with a lot of bloatware but thankfully you can remove most of it.

Performance

Now we are talking the reason to purchase this powerful device. Like the previous Zenfone 2, this phone also comes with a great combination of hardware. Z580, a quad-core Chip by Intel in combination with a 4 GB ram. This beast can smilingly take even if you open all application at once. From a wide range of storage option available for the phone, we also get a Micro SD Card slot to meet expanding needs. The device performs pretty well even while handling huge applications and you won’t even notice any kind of lag.

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Review: Verdict

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is a good device, it comes with a good battery, good display and a good camera. The best part about the phone is its 64GB internal memory and the custom back panel. A lot of tweaks have been made to the device and the back panel is really beautiful. If you are someone who is looking for a phone having good looks along with great performance, then this might be the perfect device for you.
