Do you want to know more about your Facebook fans? Do you wish there was a way to analyze your Facebook page to help you better reach your fans? Well, luckily there is a way! With a tool called Minilytics, you can analyze your Facebook page and get answers to important questions about your fans.
According to Minilytics, most pages reach less than 20% of their fans. Do you know how many fans you’re actually reaching? Do you know the best time to post to your fan page so that you can reach the most people? Probably not, and that’s where Minilytics steps in.
We’re going to show you how to use Minilytics to analyze your Facebook page, get the most value and reach more of your fans.
Getting Started
1. Log in to Minilytics using your Facebook account. Since Minilytics is a Facebook app, you’ll need to give it permission to access your account and basic information.
Usage
2. Once you have successfully linked your account to Minilytics, you can start getting answers to four questions about your Facebook page. This is what Minilytics will answer:
- When is the best time to post?
- Who are my fans?
- How many fans am I reaching?
- What are the best types of posts for my fan page?
To get your answers, you can select a question from the side of the page.
3. When you select a question, you’ll get an answer. It’s as simple as that. Minilytics will also show you the criteria used to calculate those answers.
Below you can see answers to each question regarding one of my own Facebook fan pages.
- Best time to post?
- How many fans am I reaching?
- Best type of post?
- Who are my fans?
4. You can now use this data to figure out how to better reach your fans.
5. With the ‘Best Time to Post’ answer, you can see the average time that your fans comment and see the average time that you should post things on your page.
In turn, you should be able to reach more fans and increase your fan page’s engagement. This way you’ll see an increase under ‘How Many Fans am I Reaching?’
6. With the ‘Best Type of Post’ answer, you can see what your fans enjoy most. Out of links (statuses), photos and videos, Minilytics will calculate the most popular.
They’ve even offered an article explaining how this is calculated, for those that are curious.
7. With the ‘Who Are My Fans’ answer, you’ll better understand who you’re talking to. Depending on your niche, you may want to change the types of things you’re sharing. i.e. Most posts geared toward women or most posts geared toward teenagers.
8. If you want to see a more in-depth report of your page, Minilytics offers this as well. You’ll see a link to it at the top of the page.
Sadly, I had issues trying to view mine, but maybe you’ll have better luck. There seems to be some type of application error.
9. If you have more than one Facebook fan page, you can change the current page and view data for your other pages as well. There’s a menu option at the top of the site (next to the sign out link). This drop down menu will display all of your pages and you can easily switch between them.
Final Thoughts
Even though Minilytics offers just that, a mini set of analytics, it’s still useful and can be used to greatly improve your Facebook fan page. It’s also a good idea to check Minilytics 1-2 times a month so that you can see if there’s any improvements from your extra efforts.
If you are looking for even data and better Facebook analytics, you can try out PageLever (the creator of Minilytics). It’s not a free service, but they do offer a free trial.
Ultimately, Minilytics is a great tool to have in your bookmarks and is sure to help you increase the value of your fan page.
