Dash Wireless Smart Headphones : Everything About It

Tanmay Tech news Leave a Comment

After checking out innovations in the form of bluetooth wireless headphones, most of us thought “what next?” Be it the Google Glass or Smartwatches (Android wear, Moto 360, etc.) wearable tech gadgets have taken the technology space by storm. Further along these lines came the kickstarter project based on the sports earbuds specifications sheet of Bragi. These wireless smart earphones called “Dash” got fully funded on 31st March, 2014. Here is more details on Dash Wireless Smart Headphones.
Dash smart earbuds are the world’s first wireless smart in-ear headphones. They are nothing but two individual earbuds that can be inserted into each of your ears with no wires to connect. The name “Dash” means “personal Dashboard” and these smart headphones from Bragi are expected to start shipping from April 2015. In fact, Dash wireless earphones will be unveiled for the first time at Consumer Electronics Show 2015 (CES 2015) in Las Vegas.

In this article, we shall understand the features of the Bragi Dash wireless smart headphones and how it can play multiple roles of bluetooth earbuds, fitness tracker as well as a radio.

Features of Dash in-ear Plugs

These would be compatible with iPhone 4S & above, iPad 3 & later, Android mobile phones with Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, and few Blackberry phones as well as Windows phones. As already mentioned above, these are 2 separate earbuds that can be connected to each other as well as to your phone.
Dash Wireless Fitting earphones
Battery life for Dash ear plugs is pretty good. For example, if you charge them for atleast 1 hour, they could last for about 4 hours of normal play time and 250 hours of standby. They contain 4 GB storage capacity MP3 player along with touch control facility.
Of course, we have the normal bluetooth speakers functionality (Next generation bluetooth technology) which allows these earbuds to play music by simply connecting to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The unique part about Dash earphones is that they consist of sensors such as a 3-axis accelerometer, one red & IR LED optical sensor, one capacitive sensor as well as one thermometer. This empowers Dash with capabilities like measuring body temperature, measuring calories burnt as well as even measuring your heart rate. They have gone a step further by providing a sensor for oxygen saturation measurement.
Being touted as your wireless sports companion, Dash can always keep track of your steps, speed, distance, turns, cadence, airtime as well as drop rate for extreme sports.
It doubles in as a personal trainer through audio feedback. It enables passive noise isolation which can allow you sleep peacefully during your flight journey. Also, one can activate the transparent mode (audio transparency) to hear ambient sounds.
It is believed that Dash earbuds will come in 3 different sizes (of silicon sleeves) that should fit most ear shapes. All these amazing features of Dash will make it a worthy buy later this year. As of now, the price of Dash seems to have been finalized at $299. You can pre-order the Dash (black or white) at: Official Bragi Store for buying Dash

It will be interesting to check how Dash performs and how the users react to such a bundle of features packed in two tiny earbuds. The closes rival for Dash could be Moto Hint, but, it doesn’t seem to come up with as many functionality as Dash. For now, I am eager to get a first-hand review of Dash and may be take my decision to order it online as soon as it gets launched to the world!

These are the most stylish and modern sports activity trackers with a music player. Sure these are earbuds, but there are many other good earbuds that play good sound. The thing that is so special about these is the fact they measure you body’s stats which is incredibly useful during workouts, not to mention it is damn cool.
